Our very first English Setter, 'Emma' ~ Mirkwood Extra Special
Emma came to live with us in November 1988.  We were warned by her breeder's, Jeff & Ruth Roberts, that English Setters can be extremely destructive as puppies.........we soon found out for ourselves!  Emma did her teething on the wooden arms of the settee! .....so off we trundled to our local DIY shop to purchase some wood-filler and hey presto!  just like a new one.  Well that was until her partner in crime arrived.........

'Megan' ~ Wistaston Blue Dancetime came to stay in October 1989......
Oh what fun they had finishing off the arms of the settee!
We had to go and buy a new one, but this time it was for them to sit on.

Our third English Setter, 'Herbie' came to us via the English Setter Rescue.
He was only 22 months old at the time and this was his 5th home.  He was extremely timid and had to be hand fed for 8 months.  Gradually he gained confidence until he was the one at the front of the crowd barking for treats!!  It is well worth the time and effort needed to give a rescue dog a home, the bond seems to be much stronger somehow.  Herbie is a lovely lad and SO affectionate!

Our fourth English Setter 'Abbey' or should I say 'H' as she was named by Jeff & Ruth....Abbey was only half the weight of her littermates and was nick-named half-pint, hence 'H'

And last but by no means least....'Cleo'
Cleo came to live with us in October 2001, a sweet little orange girl with loads of love to give.....and receive!
